Abstract

Lighting Control

My name is Glenn A. Bell. I am the President and founder of American
Industries Corp. We are a licensed and insured Security & Home
Automation Contractor operating in Honolulu, Hawaii, since 1998. We
design and install the latest in integrated electronic systems for both

I have written several How To eBooks to help people understand the
variables of Modern Home Electronics. The eBook that is being offered
today is How to Install Lighting Control.
*Control the illumination level. You can determine the light level of
each light from 0 to 100%.

*Save energy on your lighting bill. A dimmed level of 80% illumination
gains an energy savings of 20%. Now multiply this energy savings by
your entire house.
*One can program the rate at which a light turns on. Everyone knows how
uncomfortable it is to turn on a light in a dark room only to have it
snap to the "on" condition at 100%. Now it can be programmed to ramp up
slowly from 0% to the desired illumination over a couple seconds to
several minutes.
*Lights can also be programmed to fade down the illumination level at a
controlled rate. Now when you turn off the light switch, the light will
slowly fade to 0% anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes.
*There are two methods of turning on a given light. If you tap the
decora type light switch once, the light ramps up at the rate it has
been programmed. Or you can quickly tap the light switch two times and
it will snap on to 100% illumination immediately.
*The most important utilization of any lighting control system is the
ability to control lighting scenes. The ability to control selective
lights as a group is the capability that really gets the public's
attention. You can design any number of lighting scenes, determine
which lights will be part of the scenes, and how the scenes will be
executed. Illuminating a pathway through your home is but one example.
An entertainment scene is another.

What I am offering is an opportunity for you to have a full 100%

concept, wiring diagrams, connector photos, equipment components,
special tools needed, and programming required. Once you are ready to

grandmother and carry out the installation by having family members

software program. The photo below shows how the home owner is slowly
building his list of switches and 6-button controller devices. In the
program, you just click Add Device, select the type of device, and
identify where in the house the device is located. Later on you would
be able to select each switch, one at a time, and define all the
operational parameters you want in that switch. The programming could
not be any easier. When you have this system you will be given a
complete Programming Users Guide.
